Company Background:
Sepon is an open-pit and underground gold and copper mine located in Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) owns and operates Sepon, with ownership divided between Chifeng Jilong Gold Mining Co., Ltd (90%) and the Lao Government (10%).
Services Provided:
ESL conducted a Consulting service for the review of the LXML Sepon Social-Economic survey 2018 with the following scope of services:
Expansion of Deposits:
- Expanding four existing deposits: Discovery Main, Discovery West, Nalou, and Nam Kok West.
- Merging two deposits (Nalou and Nam Kok West) to form a conjoined pit.
Reconfiguration of Plant Infrastructure:
- Modifying existing gold and copper plant infrastructure to enable the processing of primary and oxide gold ores.
River and Creek Realignment:
- Re-aligning the Nam Kok River and Houay Kiang Creek to accommodate project requirements.
Relocation of Community Infrastructure:
- Relocating public road Route 28A, employee parking areas, and local markets.
Reporting and Consultation:
- Preparing detailed reports.
- Conducting public consultations with stakeholders.
- Revising and editing reports to meet approval requirements by the Department of Environment.
