Forest Verification for the Xekong Thermal Power Plant Project

Company Background:
The Xekong Thermal Power Plant Project is operated by Xekong Power Plant Limited, a subsidiary of Phonesack Group. The project is situated in southern Laos in Saravan Province, approximately 800 km south of Vientiane Capital.

Services Provided:
ESL conducted Forest Verification with the following scope of services:

Data Review:

    • Reviewing relevant data and documentation.

Forest Classification and Mapping:

    • Developing a classification scheme.
    • Generating a Forest Cover Map using high-resolution satellite imagery from THEOS (resolution: 2 m x 2 m, Pan Sharpened Level 2A – Standard Tasking).

Results and Analysis:

    • Analyzing results to assess forest coverage and condition.

Reporting:

    • Preparing and submitting detailed reports.
