Company Background:
Energy Absolute PCL (“Energy Absolute” or “EA”) is developing a large-scale, run-of-river hydropower project on the Mekong River, located on the border between Loei and Nong Khai Province, Thailand, and Sangthong District, Vientiane Province, Lao PDR.
Services Provided:
ESL conducted the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) with the following scope of services:
Preparation of Scoping Study and TOR:
- Preparing the Scoping Study and Terms of Reference (TOR) for the project.
Document and Project Review:
- Reviewing existing project documentation and relevant information.
Inception Report:
- Preparing the inception report outlining the study approach and methodology.
Technical Investigations:
- Compiling technical investigations and assessments related to environmental and social impacts.
Government and Community Consultation:
- Conducting government and community consultations to present the results of the EIA/SIA process.
- Preparing a subsequent Stakeholder Participation and Consultation Program.
Preparation of EIA Documents:
- Preparing all necessary Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) documentation.
